Isaac "Ike" Barinholtz is an American actor, comedian, writer, director, and producer, born on February 18, 1977, in Chicago, Illinois. After briefly attending Boston University with aspirations of a political career, he dropped out and returned to Chicago, where he found his calling in improvisational comedy. He honed his skills at renowned institutions like The Second City, ImprovOlympic, and Annoyance Theatre, and spent two years performing with the acclaimed comedy troupe Boom Chicago in Amsterdam alongside future stars like Seth Meyers and Jordan Peele.Barinholtz gained widespread recognition as a long-time cast member on the sketch comedy show "MADtv" from 2002 to 2007, where he showcased his versatility in various characters. Following this, he transitioned into more prominent roles in television, notably as Ivan Dochenko in "Eastbound & Down" (2012) and, perhaps most famously, as the socially awkward male nurse Morgan Tookers in "The Mindy Project" (2012-2017), a show on which he also served as a writer and story editor. His television work also includes "Bless the Harts" (voice), "The Afterparty," and "History of the World, Part II," for which he earned a Primetime Emmy nomination. On the big screen, Barinholtz has established himself as a prominent comedic actor, with notable appearances in films like "Neighbors" (2014) and its sequel "Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising" (2016), "Sisters" (2015), and the controversial satirical thriller "The Hunt" (2020), where he played the character "Staten Island." He also ventured into action with a supporting role in "Suicide Squad" (2016). Beyond acting, Barinholtz has proven his talents as a writer, co-writing the action-comedy "Central Intelligence" (2016) starring Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart. In 2018, he made his feature directorial debut with "The Oath," a dark comedy he also wrote, produced, and starred in. He continues to be a dynamic force in comedy, frequently appearing in films and TV series that blend humor with social commentary.
