Im Sung-jae, also known as Sungjae Im, is a South Korean professional golfer born on March 30, 1998, in Cheongju, South Korea. He began playing golf at a very young age, turning professional in 2015 at 17. Im quickly made his mark, winning twice on the Web.com (now Korn Ferry) Tour in 2018, where he was named both Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year, while also topping the money list. This success led to his PGA Tour card. In his rookie season on the PGA Tour (2018-2019), he earned PGA Tour Rookie of the Year honors, making the cut in 26 of 35 starts. His career highlights include his first PGA Tour victory at the 2020 Honda Classic, a tied-for-second finish at the 2020 Masters Tournament, and a victory at the 2021 Shriners Children's Open. Im has also represented the International Team at the Presidents Cup in 2019, 2022, and 2024, and won a team gold medal and individual silver medal for South Korea at the 2023 Asian Games. He consistently performs well, known for his steady play and strategic approach, and has achieved a career-high world ranking of 16th in February 2021.
