Ingrid Kleinig

Ingrid Kleinig is a highly accomplished Los Angeles-based stunt coordinator and second unit director, originally from Australia. Her career in stunts dramatically took off when she performed, suspended 140 feet above the arena, during the Opening Ceremony of the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. With a background in dance and physical theatre, having toured globally with "Legs on the Wall" and performed with the Sydney Theatre Company, she developed a vast physical, technical, and artistic vocabulary that proved invaluable in the stunt world.Kleinig comes from a family of professional drivers, which gave her an early niche in vehicle stunts. She was one of only two female stunt drivers on Mad Max: Fury Road and is capable of driving a big rig truck. She's also known for her impressive free-diving skills, able to hold her breath underwater for five and a half minutes.Throughout her career, Kleinig has doubled for numerous prominent actresses, including Margot Robbie (on The Suicide Squad and The Legend of Tarzan), Brie Larson (on Captain Marvel and Kong: Skull Island), Evangeline Lilly (on Ant-Man and the Wasp and The Hobbit Trilogy), and Cate Blanchett. She has received significant recognition for her stunt work, including winning a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture for Mad Max: Fury Road (2016) and a Taurus World Stunt Award for "Best Fight" for Ant-Man and the Wasp (2019).Beyond performing, Kleinig has also moved into stunt coordinating and second unit directing. She was the first female to be officially graded as an Assistant Stunt Coordinator in Australia and has since served as Stunt Coordinator or Second Unit Director on films like Barbie (2023), Fall (2022), and Interceptor (2022). While primarily known for her stunt work, she has also had acting roles in TV series such as Lucifer and Sea Patrol.
