Ingrid Oliver is a British actress, comedian, and writer. She was born on February 25, 1977, in London to a German father and an English mother, the former Conservative MP Jo Gideon. Oliver is a well-known face in British comedy, most famously as one half of the sketch comedy duo Watson & Oliver, alongside her friend Lorna Watson. They met at Tiffin Girls' School and later took their sell-out shows to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.Oliver has a broad career on television, in film, and on stage. She is widely recognized for her recurring role as Petronella Osgood in the long-running BBC science fiction series Doctor Who, a character who became a fan favorite. Her other television credits include appearances in Peep Show, Doc Martin, The Watch, and the recent Sky Atlantic series Sweetpea. In film, she has appeared in movies such as Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, The Hustle, and Last Christmas.
