Iraia Elias is an actress born in Zarautz, Gipuzkoa, Spain, in 1980. She is a Basque actress who has been active for about ten years, with a background rooted in theater before transitioning to film. Elias studied theatrical technique in Argentina and co-founded the theater company Ttak Teatroa with Ainhoa Alberdi, creating and performing works like Eta Karmele?. She also collaborated with the collective Metrokoadroka on pieces such as Zertarako Hegoak? and Gabrielen Lekua. Her breakthrough in cinema came in 2015 with the Basque film Amama, directed by Asier Altuna, in which she played the protagonist, Amaia. Her performance in this role earned her nominations for both the Goya Award for Best New Actress and the Medalla del CEC (Circle of Cinematographic Writers) for Best New Actress in 2016. Elias's subsequent film and television work includes the film Oreina (2018), and the series Intimidad on Netflix and Hondar ahoak for ETB. She has also appeared in the film Un fantasma en la batalla (2025).
