Itsaso Arana
Itsaso Arana, born in Tafalla, Spain, in 1985, is a Spanish actress, screenwriter, and director. She has had a diverse career in theater, film, and television, and is a notable figure in Spanish independent cinema. Arana is known for her collaborations with director Jonás Trueba. She starred in his films The Romantic Exiles (2015), The August Virgin (2019), which she also co-wrote and for which she was nominated for a Goya Award, and The Other Way Around (2024).In addition to her work with Trueba, Arana has appeared in films by other directors, including La virgen de agosto (2019), The Accused (2018), and Rendir los fines de semana (2022). She has also been in a variety of television series, such as Vergüenza, Las de la última fila, and Reyes de la noche. In 2023, she made her debut as a director with the film The Girls Are Alright, which she also wrote and starred in. This film earned her a nomination for the Goya Award for Best New Director.
