Itziar Ituño

Itziar Ituño Martínez is a celebrated Spanish actress and singer, born on June 18, 1974, in Basauri, Biscay. She is globally recognized for her iconic portrayal of Inspector Raquel Murillo (later known as Lisbon) in the hit Netflix series Money Heist (La Casa de Papel), a role she reprised in the 2023 prequel spin-off Berlin. A proud advocate of Basque culture, Ituño studied acting at the Basauri Theater School and holds a degree in urban-industrial and political sociology from the University of the Basque Country. Before her international breakthrough, she was a household name in the Basque Country for her 14-year tenure as the bisexual police officer Nekane Beitia in the long-running soap opera Goenkale. Her film career is equally distinguished, featuring leading roles in critically acclaimed projects such as Loreak (2014), which was Spain’s official submission for the Academy Awards, and the fantasy film Irati (2022). In the 2025 film Follow My Voice (Sigue mi voz), Ituño takes on a key supporting role, joining a cast of young stars to bring Ariana Godoy’s emotional story to life. Beyond the screen, she is an accomplished musician, performing as a lead vocalist for the bands INGOT, Dangiliske, and EZ3, where she often blends rock with Basque lyrics. Throughout 2025 and 2026, Ituño has continued to be a prolific figure in the industry, starring in the Netflix miniseries The Crystal Cuckoo as Marta Ruiz and appearing in dramatic films like La Deuda and The Sacrifice of Urdaibai.
