Jaafar Jackson

Born in Los Angeles on July 25, 1996, Jaafar Jeremiah Jackson is an American singer, dancer, and actor who is set to make his major motion picture debut in the 2026 biographical film Michael. As the son of Jermaine Jackson and Alejandra Genevieve Oaziaza, he is a member of the legendary Jackson musical dynasty and the nephew of Michael Jackson. Although he initially aspired to become a professional golfer, he shifted his focus to the performing arts at age 12, beginning his training in singing, dancing, and piano. Over the years, he has developed a distinctive artistic style influenced by soul and pop legends such as Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, and Stevie Wonder, eventually releasing his debut single, "Got Me Singing," in 2019, which garnered millions of views and showcased his "Jackson-esque" tenor voice. Following a rigorous two-year casting process, Jaafar was selected by director Antoine Fuqua and producer Graham King to portray his uncle, Michael Jackson, in the upcoming biopic. His casting received high praise from his grandmother, Katherine Jackson, who remarked that he "embodies" her son. To prepare for the role, Jaafar focused on meticulously recreating Michael’s iconic choreography and vocal style, with early footage from the film—including recreations of the "Thriller" music video and various world tours—receiving significant attention for his striking physical resemblance to the late entertainer. Beyond his work on the film, Jaafar has appeared in family-focused projects like the reality series The Jacksons: Next Generation and has performed live at events such as MAX Proms in the Netherlands.
