Peter John Wagner II, born on October 3, 1959, in Washington, Missouri, is an iconic American actor and singer whose career has spanned decades across daytime soaps, primetime dramas, and musical theater. He first rose to superstardom in the 1980s as Frisco Jones on the soap opera General Hospital, where he became half of a legendary "supercouple" with his real-life future wife, Kristina Wagner. During this time, he also launched a successful music career, reaching number two on the Billboard Hot 100 with his 1984 hit ballad "All I Need." In the 1990s, he successfully transitioned to primetime television as the complex and often villainous Dr. Peter Burns on the hit series Melrose Place, a role he played for five seasons. More recently, he has become a staple of the Hallmark Channel, starring as Bill Avery on the long-running drama When Calls the Heart and leading the Wedding March film franchise, which he also executive produced. In the 2022 Netflix film Falling for Christmas, Wagner plays Beauregard Belmont, the billionaire hotel tycoon and protective father of Lindsay Lohan’s character, Sierra. His filmography also includes significant roles on The Bold and the Beautiful as Nick Marone and Santa Barbara as Warren Lockridge. Beyond his screen work, Wagner is a highly accomplished stage actor, notably starring in the Broadway production of Jekyll & Hyde. An avid and elite golfer, he is one of the few non-professional athletes to win the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship multiple times.
