Jack Peter Benedict Whitehall (born 7 July 1988 in London) is an acclaimed English comedian, actor, writer, and television presenter. The son of TV producer Michael Whitehall and actress Hilary Whitehall, Jack’s early exposure to entertainment led him to start as a child actor, appearing in shows like Noah’s Ark in 1997 . He found his voice in stand-up while studying in Manchester, becoming a finalist in major comedy contests and performing at the Edinburgh Fringe by 2009. Jack gained widespread recognition with his role as posh student J.P. in Fresh Meat (2011–16) and as the bumbling teacher Alfie Wickers in BBC’s Bad Education (2012–14, revival 2022–24), a series he co-wrote, later spun into The Bad Education Movie. From 2012 to 2018, he was a fixture on panel shows like A League of Their Own, and from 2018 to 2021 (returning 2025), he hosted the BRIT Awards. His travel-docu comedy series Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father (Netflix, 2017–19) showcased his humorous dynamic with his dad, while recent specials such as Settle Down and Jack in Time for Christmas (Amazon Prime, 2024) illustrate his expanding reach. In film, Jack has voiced a troll in Frozen (cut in final edit), appeared in The Nutcracker and the Four Realms (2018), Clifford the Big Red Dog, and played McGregor Houghton in Jungle Cruise (2021). He's building momentum in drama too, starring in Amazon’s upcoming psychological thriller Malice (2024/25) alongside David Duchovny and has a role in the adaptation of Night and Day (2025). In his personal life, Jack is engaged to model Roxy Horner (together since 2020); they welcomed daughter Elsie in September 2023 . A proud Arsenal FC fan, he lives in London and is known for his quick wit, self-deprecating humor, and close bond with his father—a dynamic that continues to charm fans.
