Jacob O'Neal Latimore Jr., born on August 10, 1996, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is a multi-talented American artist known for his work as an actor, singer, and dancer. He began his music career at a young age, releasing his first single "Best Friend" at just nine years old. His father and uncles were members of the gospel group The Latimore Brothers, providing him with early musical inspiration. Latimore's acting career took off with his role in the 2010 film Vanishing on 7th Street, and he has since appeared in a variety of films, including Black Nativity (2013), The Maze Runner (2014), and Collateral Beauty (2016). He gained a wider audience with his role as Emmett in the Showtime television series The Chi, which premiered in 2018.
