Jacob Ming-Trent is a prolific American actor known for his extensive work across stage, television, and film. Raised in Pittsburgh, he moved to New York City at seventeen to train at the prestigious Stella Adler Conservatory. Early in his career, he was notably the youngest person ever accepted into the Public Theater in NYC's Shakespeare Lab and later into the American Conservatory Theater's M.F.A. Program, showcasing his early talent and dedication to classical theater.On Broadway, Ming-Trent has been a part of original casts for productions like Shrek the Musical (where he played Papa Ogre, Straw, and understudied Shrek) and Hands on a Hardbody. His impressive Off-Broadway credits include numerous productions with The Public Theater, such as The Harder They Come (for which he received a Lucille Lortel Award nomination), Twelfth Night, Father Comes Home from the Wars (earning him a Lucille Lortel Award for Best Supporting Actor), and Merry Wives (Drama Desk nomination). He has a strong connection to Shakespearean roles, having played Falstaff to critical acclaim in Merry Wives and Bottom in A Midsummer Night's Dream.His television career includes series regular roles in Showtime's White Famous and HBO's Watchmen, as well as recurring roles in Ray Donovan and Feed the Beast.
