Jacob Tomuri

Jacob Tomuri is a New Zealand actor and stuntman, born on December 4, 1979. He graduated from The New Zealand College of Performing Arts and launched his career with both acting and stunt roles. Early in his career, he appeared in over 50 episodes of the teen sci-fi series The Tribe as Lt. Luke (2000–2001) and had a core role as Norman Hanson on the long-running New Zealand soap Shortland Street (2003-2005). Concurrently, he began his stunt work, notably joining the stunt team for all three films in The Lord of the Rings trilogy starting in 2001, and later contributing to major films like Avatar and The Hobbit series. His career significantly shifted in 2014 when he was hired as the principal stunt double for actor Tom Hardy, a partnership that led to extensive work on blockbusters such as Mad Max: Fury Road, Legend, The Revenant, and the Venom films. In 2024, he also appeared in a cameo role as Max Rockatansky in the film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Tomuri has also been recognized for his stunt coordination work and is a recipient of awards including a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble for Mad Max: Fury Road.
