Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan–Indian actress, model, and philanthropist who has become one of Bollywood’s most recognized faces. Born on August 11, 1985, in Manama, Bahrain, she hails from a diverse background—her father is Sri Lankan, and her mother is of Malaysian and Canadian descent. After completing her education in mass communication at the University of Sydney, she began her career in Sri Lanka as a television reporter and later transitioned into modeling. Jacqueline made her Bollywood debut in 2009 with the film Aladin. She gained widespread recognition with her performances in Murder 2 (2011), Housefull 2 (2012), Race 2 (2013), Kick (2014), and Judwaa 2 (2017). Her role in Kick earned her the IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actress. In addition to her acting career, she has appeared in several popular music videos, including "GF BF" (2016), "Genda Phool" (2020), and "Paani Paani" (2021) . Beyond her film career, Jacqueline is known for her philanthropic efforts. She founded the YOLO Foundation, aiming to empower underprivileged communities in Sri Lanka. She has also supported causes related to animal rights, children's education, and health and hygiene . In 2025, Jacqueline starred in the comedy film Housefull 5, which was released in two versions, each featuring a different climax and murderer. The film was a commercial success, grossing nearly ₹90 crore within three days of its release.
