James Badge Dale
James Badge Dale is an American actor born James Badgett Dale on May 1, 1978, in New York City, to a showbiz family; his mother was actress Anita Morris and his father is actor and choreographer Grover Dale. He made his acting debut at the age of ten, starring as Simon in the 1990 film adaptation of Lord of the Flies. After the death of his mother in 1994, he put his acting career on hold to pursue a professional hockey career, which was ultimately derailed by a leg injury. Returning to acting in the early 2000s, he gained prominence for his television roles as Chase Edmunds in the third season of 24 and, most notably, as U.S. Marine Robert Leckie in the acclaimed 2010 HBO miniseries The Pacific. Known for portraying military, law enforcement, and intense dramatic characters, his notable film credits include Trooper Barrigan in The Departed (2006), Luke Lewenden in The Grey (2012), Eric Savin in Iron Man 3 (2013), and Tyrone "Rone" Woods in 13 Hours (2016). More recently, he starred as Detective Ray Abruzzo in the Starz series Hightown from 2020 to 2024, and in film, he took the lead role of Tulsa drug cop Layne West in the 2024 film King Ivory.
