James D'Arcy, born Simon Richard D'Arcy on August 24, 1975, in London, England, is an accomplished English actor and film director. After his father's early passing, he was raised by his mother, Caroline, a nurse, alongside his younger sister Charlotte in Fulham. His initial exposure to acting came during a year spent working in the drama department of a school in Perth, Australia, after graduating from Christ's Hospital in 1991.
