James Fleet

James Fleet is a veteran British actor of stage, screen, and radio, known for his ability to portray bumbling yet endearing characters. Born in Bilston, England, on March 11, 1952, he has become a familiar face to audiences through his memorable roles in British comedy and drama.He is perhaps most famous for his role as the kind-hearted and dim-witted Hugo Horton in the BBC sitcom The Vicar of Dibley. Another of his iconic characters is the well-meaning Tom in the beloved 1994 romantic comedy film Four Weddings and a Funeral. His film credits also include notable parts in Sense and Sensibility (1995), Mr. Turner (2014), and more recently, the 2023 film My Mother's Wedding. He also has an extensive television career, with recent work including his role as King George III in the Netflix series Bridgerton.Beyond his on-screen work, Fleet has a significant presence in radio, with roles in productions for BBC Radio 4. He is a trained stage actor who began his career with the Royal Shakespeare Company. He is married to actress Jane Booker and they have one child.
