Jamie Neumann is an American actress and writer, known for her compelling roles in various television series. Born on October 2, 1981, in Louisiana, USA, she received her training in musical theater at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, as well as ballet, tap, and jazz at the Giacobbe Academy of Dance and Delta Festival Ballet. Before her acting career, which began around 2012, she was the original drummer for the Brooklyn-based shoegaze band Desert Stars.Neumann's breakout role was as Dorothy 'Ashley' Spina, a sex worker who becomes an activist, in the HBO series The Deuce (2017–2019). Her television credits also include a critically noted performance as Gayle, a complex foster parent, in Donald Glover's Atlanta, as well as roles in Lovecraft Country, Marvel's Jessica Jones, NOS4A2, 61st Street, and the action-comedy series Twisted Metal. On the film side, her work includes movies like Down with the King and 21 Bridges.
