Jamie Ward, who stars as Romeo in the 2025 musical romantic drama Juliet & Romeo, is an Australian actor with a burgeoning international career. He graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in Perth. Ward's talent and drive led him to London in 2012, and in 2013, he made his West End debut as Marius in Les Misérables.Prior to his role in Juliet & Romeo, Ward has appeared in various film and television projects, including the British television series The Durrells, the children's show Ride, the zombie thriller The Rezort, and the American drama Tyrant. He also featured in the film adaptation of Dalia Sofer's novel Septembers of Shiraz alongside Adrien Brody and Salma Hayek. In 2022, he played Father Gomez in the final season of HBO's His Dark Materials.In Juliet & Romeo, Ward takes on the iconic role of Romeo in a modern musical reimagining of Shakespeare's classic love story. The film, which was initially titled Verona, features original pop music and a twist on the familiar tale. Ward stars opposite Clara Rugaard as Juliet, with a supporting cast including Rebel Wilson, Jason Isaacs, Rupert Everett, and Derek Jacobi.Beyond acting, Jamie Ward is also a talented musician and was the lead singer of the pop band Balcony, which toured with Lewis Capaldi. While currently focused on his acting career, he has an EP ready for release and remains open to future musical endeavors.
