Janine Chang (formerly known as Ning Chang, Chinese: 張鈞甯; pinyin: Zhāng Jūnníng) is a highly respected Taiwanese actress and film producer. Born on September 4, 1982, in Munich, West Germany, she is also notably well-educated, holding a bachelor's degree in law from National Taipei University and a master's degree in industrial economics from National Central University. She began her career appearing in music videos and commercials before gaining widespread recognition for her roles as Guan Xin in the medical drama The Hospital (2006) and Lan Xi Ying in the action-crime series Black & White (2009). Since 2010, she has actively expanded her career into Mainland China, starring in major historical and drama series such as The Empress of China (2014), The Advisors Alliance (2017), and Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace (2018). Her film work includes critically acclaimed titles like The Soul (2021) and The Abandoned (2022), the latter earning her a Best Actress nomination at the Taipei Film Festival. She has won several acting accolades, including the Best Actress award at the 10th Taipei Film Festival for What on Earth Have I Done Wrong?! (2007).
