Jasmine Mathews is an American actress, born on February 9, 1991, and raised in Houston, Texas. She began cultivating her acting skills during her time at Spelman College in Atlanta, where she studied theater, performing in plays such as Steel Magnolias and A Day in the Life, and also earning the titles of Miss Morehouse College and Miss Historically Black College and University. After graduating with a BFA in Theatre, Mathews furthered her education by attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she obtained an MFA in Theatre in 2016, performing in several Nevada Conservatory Theatre productions. After moving to Los Angeles, she quickly found success, securing her breakthrough role in 2018 as Heather McNamara in the Paramount Network series remake of the black comedy Heathers. Her film career has seen her take on significant roles in major stream-distributed movies, including playing Lt. Hart in the sci-fi action film The Tomorrow War (2021) opposite Chris Pratt, Lori in the action-comedy The Man from Toronto (2022), and Mary Joan in the biographical drama Big George Foreman (2023). She has also appeared in television series such as CBS's Blue Bloods (2017), Starz's Sweetbitter (2018), and ABC's The Rookie (2019), and is cast in the upcoming romantic comedy Merv (2025).
