Jasmine Trinca is an acclaimed Italian actress and director, born on April 24, 1981, in Rome. Her career began unexpectedly in 2001 when, at the age of 19 while studying Archeology at university, she was cast by Nanni Moretti to play Irene in the Palme d'Or-winning film The Son's Room (La stanza del figlio), earning her a Ciak d'oro and a Globo d'oro as a debut actress. She solidified her standing in Italian cinema with roles in major films such as The Best of Youth (La meglio gioventù, 2003), The Caiman (Il caimano, 2006), and The Great Dream (Il grande sogno, 2009), which won her the Marcello Mastroianni Award at the Venice Film Festival. Her later career brought significant recognition, including the Nastro d'Argento for Best Actress for both Un giorno devi andare and Honey (Miele) in 2013, the David di Donatello for Best Actress and the Un Certain Regard Award for Best Performance at Cannes for Fortunata (2017), and another David di Donatello for The Goddess of Fortune (La dea fortuna, 2020).
