Jason Burkey is an American actor, born on August 6, 1985, in St. Charles, Illinois, and raised in nearby West Chicago. He began his journey in the performing arts with an early exposure to theater through his mother, a director and actress. Burkey's passion for acting solidified during a middle school performance when he experienced the positive reaction of the audience. After graduating high school in 2003, he attended Taylor University, where he initially majored in Communication Studies before switching to Media Communication, graduating in 2007. He relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, in 2008 to pursue acting, making his professional debut with the short film Alumni (2009) and later landing his feature film lead role in the faith-based drama October Baby (2011). Building his career through independent films and mainstream television, he is known for supporting roles such as Kevin in five episodes of AMC's The Walking Dead (2016–2018) and Cody Coleman in four episodes of The Resident (2018–2019). His more recent credits include the films I Can Only Imagine (2018), The Art of Self-Defense (2019), The Beanie Bubble (2023), and the 2024 film Suncoast.
