Jason Tobin (credited in Chinese as To Jun Wai), born on July 12, 1975, is a Hong Kong-British film and television actor known for his work in both Asian and American productions. Born in Hong Kong to an English father and Chinese mother, he attended King George V School before moving to Los Angeles to pursue his acting ambitions, drawing early inspiration from Bruce Lee. Tobin had his breakout film role in Justin Lin's 2002 independent crime drama Better Luck Tomorrow, where he played Virgil Hu. This collaboration continued in the Fast & Furious franchise, where he portrayed Earl in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006) and later reprised the role in F9 (2021). However, his most prominent and critically praised role is as the series lead Young Jun in the HBO Max action-drama series Warrior, based on the writings of Bruce Lee, for which he has garnered widespread acclaim for his intense performance and physical transformation. Tobin has also taken on challenging lead roles, winning multiple Best Actor awards at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and the London Independent Film Awards for the film Chink (later re-titled #1 Serial Killer) and Jasmine. His other notable television work includes the Disney+ series A Thousand Blows. He currently resides between Hong Kong, London, and Sydney.
