Jay Hieron, born James Thomas Hieronymus on July 29, 1976, in Freeport, New York, is an American actor, stuntman, and former mixed martial artist. Known by the nickname "The Thoroughbred," he was the final IFL Welterweight Champion and competed for teams like the Los Angeles Anacondas. His MMA career included fights in major promotions such as UFC, WEC, Affliction, Strikeforce, and Bellator. Before MMA, Hieron was a successful wrestler, being a two-time state wrestling championship runner-up in high school and a national Junior College Champion at Nassau Community College. He later attended Hofstra University. After retiring from MMA, he transitioned into acting and stunt work. Hieron has appeared in feature films like "The Equalizer 2" alongside Denzel Washington and television series such as "Ray Donovan," "Daredevil," "Lethal Weapon," and "Iron Fist." Recently, he stars as the undefeated boxer "The Prophet" in the Amazon Prime drama "7TH AND UNION." His acting career combines his physical skills from fighting with his new endeavors in Hollywood.
