Jay Ryan is a New Zealand actor celebrated for his diverse roles in both television and film. Born Jay Bunyan on August 29, 1981, in Auckland, New Zealand, he began his acting career in the late 1990s under his birth name. He is best known for portraying Ben Hanscom in It Chapter Two (2019), where he brought depth to the character's transformation from a bullied child into a confident, successful architect. This role marked a significant milestone in his career, especially in the international film industry. Before his breakthrough in It Chapter Two, Ryan had a prolific career in Australian and New Zealand television. He gained prominence for his role as Jack Scully in the Australian soap opera Neighbours (2002–2005). His other notable television roles include Seaman Billy "Spider" Webb in Sea Patrol (2007–2009), Kevin in Go Girls (2009–2012), and Vincent Keller in Beauty & the Beast (2012–2016).
