Jeanette Hain is a German actress born on February 18, 1969, in Munich. She began her acting career after being discovered by director Sherry Hormann while studying directing at the School of Television and Film in Munich. Her first leading role was in the 1998 TV film Die Cellistin – Liebe und Verhängnis. She gained further recognition for her role as Sophie in the 1998 film Frau Rettich, die Czerni und ich . Over the years, Hain has appeared in over 90 film and television productions, showcasing her versatility in both German and international projects. Notably, she portrayed Brigitte in The Reader (2008), starring opposite Ralph Fiennes, which brought her international acclaim . Her other significant works include The Young Victoria (2009), Never Look Away (2018), and Young Woman and the Sea (2024), where she played Gertrude Anna Ederle .
