Jeffrey Tambor

Jeffrey Tambor (born July 8, 1944, in San Francisco, California) is a retired American actor renowned for his versatile performances across television, film, and voice acting. He began his career in the 1970s, making appearances in various television shows and films. Tambor gained significant recognition for his role as Hank Kingsley on the HBO series The Larry Sanders Show (1992–1998), where his portrayal of the self-absorbed talk show sidekick earned him four Primetime Emmy Award nominations. He further solidified his television legacy with roles in Arrested Development (2003–2006, 2013, 2018–2019) as George Bluth Sr. and Oscar Bluth, and as Maura Pfefferman in Amazon's Transparent (2014–2017). His performance in Transparent earned him two Primetime Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award. In addition to his live-action roles, Tambor has contributed his voice to several animated projects, including Disney's Tangled (2010), where he voiced the character of Big Nose. His film credits encompass a diverse range of characters, such as Sully in There's Something About Mary (1998), Mayor Augustus May Who in How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000), and Tom Manning in Hellboy (2004) and its sequel Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008). Tambor's early education in acting took place at San Francisco State University and Wayne State University. He has been married twice and has five children. In 2017, Tambor faced allegations of sexual harassment from two women associated with Transparent, leading to his departure from the series in 2018.
