Jennifer Engstrom
Jennifer Engstrom is an accomplished American actress, primarily known for her extensive work in theater. An ensemble member of A Red Orchid Theatre since 2003, she has appeared in numerous productions including The Moors, Small Mouth Sounds, 3C, The Mutilated, Simpatico, The Hothouse, Eric Larue (for which she also appeared in the film adaptation), Fatboy, The Fastest Clock in the Universe, and Kimberly Akimbo.Her regional theater credits are vast and include notable roles such as the Angel of America in David Cromer's production of Angels in America at Kansas City Rep, RC in Bug at Steppenwolf Theatre Company, and Eunice in A Streetcar Named Desire at the Williamstown Theatre Festival and Writers Theatre (where she also understudied Blanche). Engstrom has also performed Lady MacDuff in MacBeth at Notre Dame Shakespeare and Zelda in Lisa Dillman's Ground at the Humana Festival. Other Chicago credits include April Green in The Hot L Baltimore at Mary-Arrchie Theatre Company, Shirl in Defiant Theatre's The Flaming Guns of the Purple Sage, and appearances in The Incident and Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been… at Next Theatre (earning Jeff Awards for Best Ensemble). She received the 2008 Orgie Award for her portrayal of Fudgie in Fatboy and a Jack Springer Award for Best Actress in Sky Girls at Northlight Theatre.Engstrom's career also extends to New York City, where she made her debut with her one-woman show, Excuse My Dust, A Dorothy Parker Portfolio, which she curated and performed, bringing to life monologues from Dorothy Parker's writings. She has also traveled to London with Steppenwolf's One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Her film and TV credits include SLICE, Swing Shift, and Chicago Fire.
