Jennifer Grey
Jennifer Grey, born on March 26, 1960, in New York City, is an American actress from a prominent entertainment family; her father is Oscar-winning actor Joel Grey, and her paternal grandfather was comedian Mickey Katz. She rose to international fame in the 1980s with iconic roles, most notably as Frances "Baby" Houseman in the beloved romantic drama Dirty Dancing (1987), which earned her a Golden Globe nomination. Prior to that, she had a breakthrough role as Jeanie Bueller in the teen comedy Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986) and appeared in Red Dawn (1984) and The Cotton Club (1984). In the early 1990s, Grey underwent two rhinoplasty procedures which significantly altered her appearance and, as she has openly discussed, impacted her career. Despite this, she continued to work steadily in film and television, with credits including the sitcom It's Like, You Know... (where she played herself and famously made her nose job a running gag), Red Oaks, and Grey's Anatomy. In 2010, she won season eleven of Dancing with the Stars. More recently, she's been involved in projects such as Gwen Shamblin: Starving for Salvation (2023) and is set to appear in and executive produce a sequel to Dirty Dancing. Her upcoming projects also include the 2025 film Wish You Were Here. Grey was married to actor Clark Gregg from 2001 to 2021, and they have a daughter. She released a memoir, Out of the Corner, in 2022, where she candidly discussed her life and career.
