Jeremy Irvine

Jeremy Irvine (born Jeremy William Fredric Smith on June 18, 1990) is an English actor who first gained international recognition after being hand-picked by director Steven Spielberg to star as the lead, Albert Narracott, in the epic war film War Horse (2011). Following this breakthrough, he quickly established a career in period dramas and literary adaptations, notably starring as Pip in Great Expectations (2012) and the young Eric Lomax in The Railway Man (2013), a role for which he earned a reputation as a method actor after undergoing significant weight loss. His versatile filmography also includes the sequel The Woman in Black: Angel of Death (2014) and the popular musical Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018), where he played the young Sam Carmichael. In television, he starred as J. Randolph Bentley in the action series Treadstone and is cast in the main role of Henry Beauchamp in the upcoming Outlander prequel series, Outlander: Blood of My Blood (2025). Most recently, he starred as Zach, a wealthy business executive with a strained marriage, in the 2025 psychological thriller Turbulence, a film which follows his character and his wife on a disastrous hot-air balloon trip. Irvine is also slated to portray Alan Scott in the upcoming DC Universe Green Lantern project.
