Jeremy Wheeler
Jeremy Wheeler is a British character actor who has built a prolific career across international film, television, and theater, often specializing in authoritative and period-specific roles. Born in Dover, UK, and having lived in various countries including Zambia and France, Wheeler is currently based in Hungary. This unique geographic placement has made him a frequent collaborator for major international productions filming in Eastern Europe. His early career saw him appearing in projects like the miniseries Houdini (2014) and Brady Corbet’s directorial debut The Childhood of a Leader (2015), where he began a long-standing association with the creative circle of Corbet and Mona Fastvold. Over the last several years, Wheeler has become a "go-to" ensemble player for high-concept arthouse cinema and prestige television. His filmography includes appearances in Yorgos Lanthimos’s Oscar-winning Poor Things (2023) as a ship officer, the Bollywood blockbuster Dunki (2023) as a British judge, and the horror-comedy The Munsters (2022) as Mr. Gateman. On television, he has appeared in The Crown, All the Light We Cannot See, and the supernatural series Fallen. His ability to disappear into "man-of-the-moment" roles—ranging from government officials to historical figures—has led to a particularly busy 2024 and 2025, with credits in Pablo Larraín’s Maria, the culinary thriller House of Spoils, and the historical epic The Brutalist. In 2025, Wheeler played the role of John Townley in Mona Fastvold’s The Testament of Ann Lee, further cementing his place in the director's repertory of actors. He is also featured as General Phipps in the 2025 drama Nuremberg and the TV miniseries Death by Lightning.
