Jerskin Fendrix, born Joscelin Dent-Pooley, is an English composer and musician. He first gained recognition in the experimental pop scene of London, and his debut solo album, Winterreise, released in 2020, garnered critical acclaim for its genre-defying sound. He studied classical music at Cambridge University, and his diverse musical background is evident in his work, which has been described as a mix of electro-punk, ultra-modern pop, and classical elements.Fendrix's career took a significant turn when he was commissioned by director Yorgos Lanthimos to compose the score for the 2023 film Poor Things. Lanthimos, after hearing Winterreise, enlisted Fendrix for his first feature film score. The resulting soundtrack, known for its jarring, atonal, and whimsical nature, earned Fendrix an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Score, as well as nominations at the Golden Globes and BAFTAs. He has since become a frequent collaborator with Lanthimos, also composing the scores for Kinds of Kindness (2024) and the upcoming Bugonia (2025). In addition to his film work, Fendrix has a second studio album, Once Upon a Time in Shropshire, scheduled for release. He also made cameo appearances in Poor Things and Kinds of Kindness.
