Jeryl Prescott Sales is an American actress, born on March 25, 1964, in Washington, D.C., and raised in Hartsville, South Carolina. Before dedicating herself to acting, Prescott pursued a diverse academic and professional path, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Management and working in the trucking industry, and later obtaining an MA and PhD in literature.She is widely recognized for her role as Jacqui in the first season of AMC's hit zombie series The Walking Dead (2010-2012), a role she reprised in later seasons. Her television career also includes significant roles such as Madame Xanadu in the DC Universe series Swamp Thing (2019) and Aktropaw, one of the Great Mothers, in Star Wars: Ahsoka (2023). Prescott has also made recurring appearances in popular shows like Ray Donovan and Powers, and guest-starred in numerous series including Criminal Minds, Parks and Recreation, Modern Family, and 9-1-1.In film, her credits encompass a range of genres, from horror in The Skeleton Key (2005) and Vacancy 2: The First Cut (2008), to historical drama in The Birth of a Nation (2016), and contemporary dramas like Steven Soderbergh's High Flying Bird (2019) and Unpregnant (2020).
