Jesse Suntele
Jesse Suntele (born on September 18, 1992, in Johannesburg, South Africa) is a versatile South African actor, model, rapper, and television personality. His journey into the entertainment industry began in 2013 when he auditioned for the SABC 1 reality competition "U Can Do It" and successfully made it to the Top 10. In 2014, he landed his first credited acting role in the finale of the SABC 1 documentary-drama "Ngempela." However, Suntele gained widespread recognition in 2016 when he emerged as the winner of the second season of the BET reality competition series "Top Actor Africa." This victory not only boosted his profile but also earned him a 12-month contract with an international talent agency and access to Hollywood auditions.Following his win, Suntele's acting career flourished. He appeared in various television series, including a recurring role in "Ashes to Ashes" (2015-2016), guest appearances in "Generations" and "Mutual Friends" (both in 2015 and 2016 respectively), and a notable recurring role as Tuelo ("Officer Bae") in the Mzansi Magic telenovela "The Queen" (2016). In 2018, he joined the cast of the e.tv soap opera "Rhythm City" as Mzi. More recently, he played significant roles as Phila Bhengu in the Netflix drama series "Savage Beauty" (2022-2024) and as Marcus in the series "In Your Dreams" (2023). In 2025, he starred as Sizwe Khumalo in the Netflix film "Meet the Khumalos."Beyond acting, Suntele is also a talented rapper known by the stage name J-Flo. He was a contestant in the second season of the Vuzu Amp reality competition "The Hustle" in 2017, reaching the Top 6. He has released singles such as "High by the Beach" and "Outta Town," and featured on Kelly Khumalo's song "Jehova." In May 2021, he released his debut EP, "What Did You Expect." His multifaceted talent and achievements have made Jesse Suntele a prominent figure in the South African entertainment scene. In recognition of his work, he was nominated for Hunk of the Year at the Feather Awards in 2017 and was a Cosmo Sexiest Men finalist and in the top 12 of Mzansi's Sexiest in 2018.
