Jesse Williams
Jesse Williams (born August 5, 1981, in Chicago, Illinois) is an American actor, director, producer, and activist, best known for his role as Dr. Jackson Avery on the ABC medical drama Grey's Anatomy (2009–2022; 2024). He earned a Tony Award nomination for his performance in the 2022 Broadway revival of Take Me Out, where he also served as an executive producer. Williams is recognized for his activism, particularly in advocating for racial justice and education reform. He co-founded the scholarship app Scholly and executive produced the Academy Award-winning short film Two Distant Strangers (2020). In 2023, he joined the cast of Hulu's Only Murders in the Building for its third season. Williams has also ventured into tech entrepreneurship with apps like Ebroji and BLeBRiTY, which celebrate Black culture and inclusivity. He continues to be a prominent figure in both entertainment and social advocacy.
