Jessica McNamee is an Australian actress known for her roles in both film and television. She was born on June 16, 1988, in Sydney, Australia. She is the younger sister of fellow actress Penny McNamee.McNamee began her career on Australian television, gaining early recognition for her roles on popular soap operas. She starred as Sammy Rafter on the comedy-drama series Packed to the Rafters (2008–2013) and as a guest star on the soap opera Home and Away (2007).In the United States, McNamee has appeared in several high-profile films. Her notable roles include a supporting part in the romantic drama The Vow (2012) and a lead role in the horror film The Meg (2018), in which she played a part of a deep-sea submersible crew. She is also known for playing Sonya Blade in the 2021 film Mortal Kombat, a character she is set to reprise in the sequel.
