Joanna Christie
Joanna Lauren Christie is a British actress and singer, born on April 10, 1982, in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England. She was raised there until the age of 13 when she was awarded a music scholarship to study flute, piano, and voice at Oundle School. She later moved to London to attend the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. Christie made her West End debut in 2007, playing Jill Mason in Equus opposite Daniel Radcliffe. She is well-known for her work on Broadway, particularly for her starring role as Girl in the musical Once, a role she took in 2013 and for which she had to learn a Czech accent in a strenuous audition process. On screen, Christie is best known for portraying Connie Murphy, a lead female character, in the first two seasons of the Netflix crime drama series Narcos (2015–2016). Her other television credits include Misfits, No Angels, Elementary, and Hawaii Five-0. She has also been involved in music, having been part of her brother's band, Luke J Christie & The Held Breath, and recording a song with Glen Hansard for his solo album. She has resided in New York since April 2013.
