Joanne Baron (born February 3, 1953, in New Haven, Connecticut) is an accomplished American actress, producer and renowned Meisner technique acting coach. Raised in Providence, Rhode Island, she attended Pawtucket High School and briefly enrolled at the University of Connecticut before launching her Broadway and singing career—including performances alongside Cissy Houston—before ultimately transitioning to film and television. With over 150 on-screen credits, Baron has appeared in iconic films such as Valley Girl, Real Genius, Spider‑Man 2 and Halloween Ends, and recurring roles on prestigious TV series like Mad Men, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Law & Order: SVU and The Morning Show. Beyond acting, she co-founded the Baron Brown Studio in Santa Monica with her husband D.W. Brown, training acclaimed talents including Halle Berry, Robin Wright and Leslie Mann under the legacy of Sanford Meisner and William Esper.
