Leati Joseph Anoa'i, better known by his ring name Roman Reigns, is a prominent American professional wrestler, former football player, and actor. He is a member of the legendary Anoa'i wrestling family, a dynasty that includes his father Sika Anoa'i, his brother Rosey, and his cousins, the famed Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Rikishi, and The Usos.Before his wrestling career, Anoa'i was a talented football player. He played college football at Georgia Tech, where he was a first-team All-ACC selection. After going undrafted in the 2007 NFL Draft, he had brief stints with the Minnesota Vikings and the Jacksonville Jaguars before playing a season in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the Edmonton Eskimos.In 2010, he signed with WWE and began his training in their developmental territories. He made his main roster debut in 2012 as a member of the popular faction The Shield, alongside Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. As the powerhouse of the group, he quickly gained a reputation for his in-ring prowess and imposing presence.After The Shield disbanded, Anoa'i began a highly successful singles career as Roman Reigns, becoming one of the most recognizable and dominant figures in professional wrestling. He has won multiple championships, including the WWE and Universal titles, and holds the record for the longest-reigning world champion in WWE's modern era. His "Tribal Chief" persona, which he adopted in 2020, has been widely praised for its compelling storytelling and has cemented his status as a top-tier performer.Beyond wrestling, Anoa'i has also ventured into acting. He appeared in the film Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019) alongside his cousin Dwayne Johnson, as well as in other projects like the Netflix film The Wrong Missy. He is a leukemia survivor, having publicly announced in 2018 that the disease had returned, which forced him to take a hiatus from wrestling. He later announced that his leukemia was in remission and made a triumphant return to the ring.
