Joe Manganiello is an American actor, producer, director, and author, born on December 28, 1976, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is best known for his role as Alcide Herveaux, a werewolf in HBO's True Blood, which earned him critical acclaim and a dedicated fanbase. Manganiello began his career with a role in Spider-Man (2002) as Flash Thompson and later appeared in How I Met Your Mother as Brad Morris. His film credits include Magic Mike, Magic Mike XXL, Rampage, and Smurfs: The Lost Village. In 2014, he made his directorial debut with the documentary La Bare, which he also produced and financed. A lifelong fan of Dungeons & Dragons, Manganiello has worked extensively with the franchise, creating characters like Arkhan the Cruel and launching the company Death Saves, which produces fantasy-themed merchandise.
