Born on September 25, 1977, in Portland, Oregon, he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Southern Oregon University in 2001, where he also performed at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Moore's breakthrough came with his role as Owen Dittman in the 2004 comedy Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. He further gained recognition in films like Grandma's Boy (2006) and Hatchet (2006). His portrayal of Dr. Norm Spellman in James Cameron's Avatar (2009) and its sequels, including Avatar: The Way of Water (2022), solidified his status in the industry. As a filmmaker, Moore made his directorial debut with the psychological thriller Spiral (2007), followed by Youth in Oregon (2016). He co-founded the production company Balcony 9 in 2019, aiming to develop compelling film and television projects. Beyond his entertainment career, Moore is a dedicated philanthropist.
