He initially pursued sports on a football scholarship before discovering his passion for theater in high school. He went on to earn a BFA in Performance Theater from Columbus State University in 2009, followed by a BA in Theater and Performance Studies and Dance from Kennesaw State University in 2012.Stewart began his career in educational theater and performed extensively in regional theater, including notable roles at Atlanta's Alliance Theatre in "The Whipping Man" and "Choir Boy," and in the world premiere of "brownsville song (b-side for tray)" at Actors Theatre of Louisville. His move to New York City further solidified his theater career, with appearances in Manhattan Theatre Club's co-production of "Choir Boy" and "Fit for a Queen" at The Classical Theatre of Harlem.He gained significant recognition for his television roles, most notably as Simon on NBC's musical series "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist" (2020-2021), a role he reprised in the holiday film "Zoey's Extraordinary Christmas."
