John Tui is a New Zealand actor of Tongan descent, known for his versatile career that spans from television to Hollywood blockbusters. He was born on June 11, 1975, in Auckland, New Zealand, and is a graduate of Unitec's School of Performing and Screen Arts.He first gained a dedicated following through his roles in the Power Rangers franchise, specifically as Commander Anubis "Doggie" Cruger in Power Rangers S.P.D. and Daggeron in Power Rangers Mystic Force. These roles, filmed in his native New Zealand, established him as a fan favorite in the "Ranger" community.Tui has successfully transitioned into larger, international film projects, showcasing his range as a performer. His film credits include supporting roles in major productions such as Battleship (2012), The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014) as Bolg, Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018), and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019), where he played Kal Hobbs, one of the many brothers of Dwayne Johnson's character.
