Jonathan Majors
Jonathan Majors is an American actor who gained significant recognition for his powerful and versatile performances across film and television. Born on September 7, 1989, Majors earned his Master of Fine Arts degree from the Yale School of Drama, a testament to his rigorous training in acting. He first garnered critical acclaim for his breakout role as Montgomery Allen in the 2019 independent film "The Last Black Man in San Francisco," which earned him an Independent Spirit Award nomination. This led to a string of impactful performances, including David in Spike Lee's "Da 5 Bloods" (2020) and the lead role of Atticus Freeman in the critically acclaimed HBO series "Lovecraft Country" (2020), for which he received an Emmy nomination.Majors continued to rise in prominence with his roles as outlaw Nat Love in the Western "The Harder They Fall" (2021) and as Jesse Brown in the Korean War film "Devotion" (2022). He also entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the formidable villain Kang the Conqueror, appearing in the Disney+ series "Loki" (2021-2023) and as the main antagonist in the film "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" (2023). Additionally, he delivered a highly praised performance as Damian "Dame" Anderson in "Creed III" (2023) and as Killian Maddox in "Magazine Dreams" (2023), a film that was theatrically released in 2025 due to production and legal considerations. However, Majors' career faced significant challenges due to legal issues. In December 2023, he was found guilty of misdemeanor assault and harassment in a domestic violence case. In April 2024, he was sentenced to a domestic violence intervention program and probation, avoiding jail time. Following his conviction, Marvel and Disney Pictures parted ways with him, and other projects were put into limbo. Despite these setbacks, "Magazine Dreams" was acquired by Briarcliff Entertainment and received a theatrical release, with his ex-girlfriend dropping a civil lawsuit against him in November 2024. Majors has consistently denied the assault allegations and has expressed a desire to rebuild his career.
