Joris Jarsky

Joris Jarsky (born December 3, 1974 in Toronto, Ontario) is a versatile Canadian actor known for his work on stage, film, and television. A graduate of the prestigious National Theatre School of Canada, he earned early recognition with a Dora Award nomination for his performance in Tarragon Theatre’s production of The Awakening . Since the early 2000s, Jarsky has appeared in over 70 productions across film and TV, including prominent roles in Toronto Stories, The Green Door, Blindness, and Foolproof—with three films at the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival, one of which earned him an ACTRA Award nomination. He expanded his creative scope by writing, producing, and starring in the pilot The Joseph Michael Joseph Show, later picked up by 11Television Entertainment (part of 3Arts Entertainment). In 2016, he was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for his leading performance in the Incendo film First Response. Jarsky has also maintained a strong television presence with recurring roles in Wynonna Earp, The Art of More, and Bad Blood, and guest appearances on The Good Doctor, Murdoch Mysteries, Carter, and the Netflix sci-fi series October Faction as Basil Tate. Beyond the screen, Jarsky was Ontario’s gymnastics champion at age 14 and attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts before studying theatre formally . In recent years, he has had notable film roles in Ordinary Days and Birdland, both acclaimed on the North American festival circuit, and portrayed Detective Sergeant Rogers in The Little Things (2021) and Nathan Cody in God’s Country (2022).
