Joshua Paul Dallas is an American actor best known for his leading roles as Prince Charming/David Nolan in the ABC television series Once Upon a Time and as Ben Stone in the NBC/Netflix sci-fi drama series Manifest. Born on December 18, 1978, in Louisville, Kentucky, Dallas received the prestigious Sarah Exley Scholarship at age 16 to study acting at the Mountview Conservatoire for the Performing Arts in London. Following his studies, he spent a decade in the United Kingdom, performing with renowned theatre companies like the Royal Shakespeare Company and the English National Opera. After returning to the United States, he was quickly cast as Fandral in the 2011 Marvel film Thor, a role for which he viewed Errol Flynn as an inspiration. On television, his breakout came with Once Upon a Time, where he starred for six seasons. His other screen credits include the film The Descent Part 2 and voice roles as the Frantic Pig in the animated films Zootopia and the upcoming Zootopia 2. Regarding his personal life, Dallas was previously married to British actress Lara Pulver from 2007 to 2011. He later began dating his Once Upon a Time co-star Ginnifer Goodwin, and they married on April 12, 2014, in California, and have two sons.
