Josh Duhamel (born Joshua David Duhamel on November 14, 1972, in Minot, North Dakota) is an American actor, producer, and former model whose dynamic career spans soap operas, primetime TV, blockbuster films, and producing ventures . Initially gaining attention after winning the 1997 International Modeling and Talent Association’s Male Model of the Year—edging out Ashton Kutcher—he transitioned to acting with a breakout role as Leo Du Pres on All My Children (1999–2002), earning a Daytime Emmy Award and multiple nominations. He then starred as security head Danny McCoy in the NBC series Las Vegas (2003–2008), becoming a household name before being cast by Steven Spielberg in 2007 as Captain William Lennox in the Transformers franchise—subsequently reprising the role in three sequels. Beyond action, Duhamel has embraced diverse roles, featuring in romantic comedies (Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!, Life as We Know It, Safe Haven), dramas (11.22.63, Love, Simon), and serving as the lead in titles such as Jupiter’s Legacy and the upcoming Western series Ransom Canyon.. Off-screen, he leads a self-reliant, off-grid life in Minnesota. Over 15 years, he's built a remote cabin where he creates cherished family memories, teaches survival skills to his sons, and embraces simplicity away from Hollywood’s spotlight. On a personal note, he was married to singer Fergie from 2009 until their separation in 2017, with whom he has a son, Axl Jack. He remarried in 2022 to Audra Mari; they welcomed a son, Shepherd, in January 2024. In 2025, Duhamel stars as a brilliant, off-grid scientist in the action thriller Off the Grid alongside Greg Kinnear—bringing together his love for rugged terrain and big-screen storytelling.
