Josh Andrés Rivera is an American actor born on May 1, 1995, in North Carolina, to parents who were chemists from Puerto Rico. After his parents separated when he was a year old, he was raised by his mother in Connecticut and then Boulder, Colorado. He attended Fairview High School, where he was involved in football, music, and theater, before going on to Ithaca College.Rivera began his professional acting career on stage, notably performing in the first U.S. national tour of the hit musical Hamilton. He rose to prominence with his supporting role as Chino in Steven Spielberg's critically acclaimed 2021 remake of West Side Story. Following this, he gained further recognition for his role as Sejanus Plinth in "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes" (2023), where he reunited with his West Side Story co-star Rachel Zegler, with whom he is also in a relationship. In 2024, he portrayed Aaron Hernandez in the limited series "American Sports Story." Rivera continues to build a diverse filmography, with upcoming projects including the film "Inhabitants" (2025).
