He gained significant recognition for his role as Charlie Conway in The Mighty Ducks film series during the 1990s. However, it was his portrayal of the charming and often troubled Pacey Witter in the WB television drama Dawson's Creek (1998-2003) that brought him widespread fame and several Teen Choice Awards.Transitioning to more adult roles, Jackson starred as Peter Bishop in the critically acclaimed science fiction series Fringe (2008-2013), for which he received multiple award nominations, including a Saturn Award. He further showcased his versatility in the Showtime drama The Affair (2014-2019), earning a Golden Globe nomination. More recently, he has taken on compelling roles in limited series such as Dr. Death (2021), where he played a neurosurgeon who maimed his patients, and Fatal Attraction (2023).
